ABOUT BACHKOVO
The village of Bachkovo is situated in the west part of
Rhodopes Mountains, 28 km of
Plovdiv, 88 km of
Sofia, and 9 km of
Assenovgrad. The picturesque
river of Chepelarska flows through the village. The population of Bachkovo is 510 inhabitants. It does not have any administrative functions.
Located amidst the old green forests of the mountain the village is and ideal place for mountain, ecological tourism. There are lots of chalets and well-marked tourist routes in the area.
The proximity of numerous historical landmarks in the region of Bachkovo offers the opportunity to get acquainted with the Bulgarian traditions and culture and to feel the unique Bulgarian spirit.
There are numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, and lodgings in the village.

Assenova Fortress is about 10 km to the north.

Narechenski bani is 13 south of Bachkovo. It offers wonderful opportunities for combination of balneological treatment with rest.
