ABOUT HRISTO PRODANOV (1943 – 1984)
Hristo Prodanov was born in 1943 in the town of Karlovo. He conquered mount Everest along the western ridge alone, without an oxygen set, on 20 April 1984. He will remain there on this eternal and majestic mountain forever.
Hristo Prodanov is a prominent Bulgarian mountaineer who has participated in the Bulgarian Himalayan expeditions “Himalayas-81” and “Everest-84”. On April 30 1981 he climbed mountain peak Lhotse (8501 m) and on 20 April 1984 the highest peak on earth – mount Everest. He perished on his way down.
