ABOUT THE VILLAGE OF BYALA
The village of Byala (population: 2 330 inhabitants) is situated 79 km north of
Bourgas and 59 km south of
Varna.
Founded in the 3 rd century before Christ, Byala today is a mix of traditional working village and tourist resort.
Byala is a prosperous Bulgarian village due to the thriving local wine industry. The wine of the extremely fine vintage “Dimyat” is produced there.
It also boasts an impressive setting atop bluffs that end abruptly at the water’s edge. Stairs lead down to a secluded beach that curves north toward rocky Cape Atanas. To the south, another promontory separates the small sandy strip from the beach at
Obzor.
Byala with its favourable conditions – crystal sea, sandy beach and a forest – offers wonderful opportunities for recreation.

The camping site
"Bachvata is located in Byala.
The camping site Kristina is situated near the village. There are another three camping sites – “Luna”, “Prostor” and “Sluntse”, with bungalows between the village of Byala and the town of
Obzor. Plenty of private lodgings during the holiday season are located there.
SURROUNDING AREAS
6 km south of Byala is
Obzor, which the ancient Greeks knew as Heliopolis (“town of the sun”).
To the north of the village is the place, called
“Cherni nos – Kanarata”, where only the wide beach separates the sea from the forest. Around 30 km away from the village of Byala is situated the
Kamchia resort.
