ABOUT THE BOROVO TREASURE
The Borovo treasure was found in 1974 and consists of five silver and gold vessels. According to the archeologists this treasure dates back from the second quarter - the middle of IV th century B. C. The treasure consists of:
  • Three rhytons, formed at their foot as horse bodies;
  • Bull and Sphinx;
  • Pitcher – rhyton, imagined heroes with golden decorations at their clothes and hairs. The scene at the pitcher represents the feast of the divinities;
  • Big silver bow, gilt at its upper edge and at the foot of the handles. The bow is settled over special little chair, and at the foot of the bow there is imagined a griffon attracted hind;

The Borovo treasure is from Odrin Tsar Kotis I (383/5 – 359 B.C.) kingdom. His name is written over the vessels. The vessels are made in the town of Beos, settled at the sea cost of the sea of Marmаra.
